Each tenfold jump in frequency gets equal width, just like the NTIA wall chart. Zoomed out, the spectrum wraps onto up to three stacked rows — reading left to right, top to bottom — so every decade gets three times the width instead of being crushed into one strip. Zoom in and the rows merge back into one.
ITU convention: services in CAPITALS are primary — they get protection from interference. Lowercase services are secondary: welcome, but they must accept interference and cause none.
Most bands host several services at once — each colored row in a column is one co-allocated service. Click any band for the full story; click a service in the legend to light up its territory across the whole spectrum.
Switch the regulator menu and watch the map rearrange: Japan’s FM dial starts at 76 MHz, Europe’s longwave has no US counterpart, Australia’s CB lives at 476 MHz. Amber dashes mark every band that differs from the FCC table.
