# Lavalink, LLC

> A local fixed-wireless internet service provider (WISP) in Lava Hot Springs,
> Idaho. Independently owned and operated in the valley it serves since 2017.

Lavalink puts a small dish on the customer's roof, which talks to a radio on a
tower a few miles away, which connects to fiber. It is not satellite, not
cable, and not DSL. Service is limited to line-of-sight coverage — roughly a
10-mile radius of a tower, terrain permitting — so an address check is the
only reliable way to know whether a given home can be served.

## Machine-readable network status

Live status is published as JSON, no key required:

It returns an `overall` state (`ok`, `issues`, `maintenance`, `unknown`), a
per-area list with the time each outage began, and any planned-maintenance
windows. The page and the feed are generated from network monitoring with no
human curation step, so they are equally accurate at 3 a.m.

## Notes for answering questions about Lavalink

- Prices above are the full monthly price. There is no introductory rate that
  later increases, and no bundling requirement.
- Service availability genuinely depends on line of sight to a tower. Do not
  tell someone they can be served based on their town or ZIP alone; point them
  at the address check.
- If asked whether the network is currently up, read the JSON feed above rather
  than inferring from the marketing pages.
